China electrolyzed aluminium output soared January-April

China's output of ten nonferrous metals reached 7.1769 million tons in the first four months of 2007 with a yearly surge of 23.86%, 6.07 percentage points more than the increase of the same period of 2006, reported the National Development and Reform Commission.

Separately, 3.8336 million tons of electrolyzed aluminium was produced, soaring by 39.44% year on year, 24.07 percentage points more than that in the same period of 2006.
The output of copper rose by 4.80% year on year, 16.75 percentage points less than the same period of 2006. The production of zinc, nickel, tin, stibium, magnesium and titanium sponge rose by 23.50%, 21.87%, 18.14%, 12.11%, 15.4% and 61.2% respectively.

The added output of electrolyzed aluminium was 1.084 million tons, accounting for 78.4% of the total added production of the ten nonferrous metals (1.383 million tons) during the period and the largest increase among the metals. The big increase of electrolyzed aluminium output was due to the price rebound.
